I use Google Analytics to track visitors to my site. I do not use any of their advanced features – it should only track where you came from, which pages you visit, how long you spend on the site, and other basic information like that. What you do off the site is not something I care about or track.
I may also have a Facebook pixel on the site which probably tracks a lot more than I think it does. It’s there in the off chance I want to run ads on Facebook.
I do not have any other tracking on the site.
I have an email marketing system for the purposes of sending email newsletters to people who choose to receive them. If you choose to receive emails from me, I will obviously need your email address. I might be able to figure out your name as a result of this. You can unsubscribe via any of the emails I send you.
I may be selling products on this site. If so, there is information I need in order to fulfil the order. This would include contact details, as well as payment details. I do not have access to, nor do I retain, your payment details. It goes straight into the payment processor.
I may link out to other sites on occasion. I am pretty sure every other site will more than likely track you in some way, so keep that in mind when clicking any third party links referenced in articles.
I'm in Australia, and work primarily with Australian and American clients. If you want to yell at me for not following whatever weird privacy laws exist in Europe or the UK, please just leave the site.
